Indoor Gardening: The Unboxing of the Tower Garden

In this episode we unbox our Tower Garden.  What is a Tower Garden? Well, this one is a indoor aeroponics gardening ‘kit’ of sorts.  We discovered this amazing way of gardening in a local community education class we went to for Aeroponic Gardening.  The class description got me curious and I wanted to check it out, so I signed Steffan and myself up.  That is where we learned about this awesome way of growing fresh veggies indoors.  What is more amazing is that the veggies grow without soil to be consumed even in the deathly cold months of winter in Minnesota.

What is aeroponics?

It’s a kind of soil-less gardening, similar to hydroponics.  Essentially the plants grow in the air and are nourished with an hourly mist or as required.  We got our Tower Garden from our local Tower Garden/Juice Plus+ Distributor (here’s her site: ceciliaclark.juiceplus.com).  But, there are tons of instructions on how to make your own online.  Steffan is actually working on a potentially boat worthy version for our future sailboat life…we’ll be sharing that video soon, too, so make sure to subscribe to your YouTube Channel so you don’t miss it!

We ordered the full set-up, extension kit, plus tomato cage, lights and trolley.  I guess if you live in a climate where you could keep it outside, you wouldn’t need the lights, but ours will be living in Alex’s room–that’s what happens when you move out for college 😉

For now all we’ve shared is the unboxing of our new indoor Tower Garden, but in the coming months we’ll share updates on social media and later this year will share a ‘how things went’ update episode.  We’d love to hear from any of you with Aeroponic gardening experience, Tower Garden or otherwise!  Let us know what your experience or thoughts with a comment!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Living,

Kelly (& Steffan)
