We are taking the first steps in our journey towards living aboard a sailboat with research and education. In this video, I talk about all the live aboard boat considerations, things like:
- The difference between monohulls and catamarans
- Sail plans
- And, keel designs
Everything is up for discussion as I take a broad brush to the pros and cons of different designs and their impacts on the livability, performance, and safety to what will someday be our home.
I explore questions like:
- Should we go with something cheaper or more expensive?
- One hull or two?
- What kind of sail plan
- And, what about details like the keel design?
Choosing any home is a big deal; choosing one that floats, even more so. It’s early days for us yet, but as we daydream and plan toward our goal, we’ll refine our choices and close in on what we hope will be the best boat for us. And of course, we’ll share all the details…Stay tuned!
